Job Posting: Digital Tools Fellow, California College of the Arts, Oakland, CA

The Digital Tools Fellow will work closely with the Instructional Designer, Digital Scholarship Librarian, and Instructional Librarian as well as Program Chairs, key faculty, ETS staff, and student liaisons from the Student Learning Center and academic advising program to identify training and support needs for students and faculty around various digital tools of practice.

To help alleviate some of the burden placed on faculty to use critical classroom time teaching to the tools, the Digital Tools Fellow will work with faculty and with students to identify the areas of greatest need and implement a training and support program for students that will have the greatest impact on their learning outcomes. For example, this will most likely include the development of a workshop series to teach all aspects of the Adobe Suite. The Digital Tools Fellow will also research and review other 3rd party tools where appropriate and make recommendations back to faculty who are trying to meet a functionality/curriculum requirement that our standard set of tools does not meet. Related to this is our hope that we can utilize the Fellow’s technical skills to assist in software testing and iPad configuration, alongside Media Services staff. The Fellow will help guide and coordinate the selection of standard tools to be included on all lab and iPad images – according to pedagogical needs and assessed priorities.Reports To: Instructional Designer

NOTE: I found this posting here on Indeed.com, but I cannot find any mention of the fellowship on the school’s website. It looks like Indeed will email applications directly to “employment@cca.edu,” so it might be worth asking if they are still accepting applications before putting all the work into writing a cover letter!
