Joint Chapter Meeting: ARLIS/NA Midstates-VRA/Midwest-ARLIS/NA Twin Cities fall meeting

Save the date! The ARLIS/NA Midstates Chapter is joining forces with ARLIS/NA Twin Cities and VRA Midwest for a joint conference in Madison, Wisconsin September 12-13, 2014.

Friday September 12

12:00-12:30 – Meet at Kohler Art Library

12:30-12:45 – Walk to Robinson Map Library http://www.geography.wisc.edu/maplib/

12:45-1:45 – Tour Map Library

1:45-2:00 – Walk to DesignLab in College Library http://designlab.wisc.edu/

2:00-2:45 – Tour DesignLab

2:45-3:00 – Walk to Chazen Museum of Art http://www.chazen.wisc.edu

3:00-4:00 – Split into two groups and tour Chazen Print Room or Object Study Room or explore the museum on your own

4:00-4:15 – Walk to Elvehjem Building for chapter business meetings

4:15-5:15 – Chapter business meetings in L166 and L170

5:15– ? – Adjourn to the Memorial Union Terrace or Rathskeller

 

Saturday September 13

Chapter Award: Announcing the Twin Cities Chapter 2014 Travel Award

On behalf of ARLIS/NA Twin Cities,  I wish to congratulate our travel award recipient, Margit Ahmann Wilson.  

Margit, was also selected as the recipient of the ARLIS/NA 2014 Wolfgang M. Frietag Internship Award.  The Internship Award is given annually to one student in North America preparing for a career in art or architecture librarianship or visual resources curatorship.  Margit is a recent graduate of the MLIS program at the University of Saint Catherine, a member of the Minnesota Center for Book Arts, and an intern in the Walker Art Center Library.
In recognition of Margit’s award, and to ensure she is able to attend this year’s conference to be recognized for her efforts, the Twin Cities chapter is proud to grant her this year’s ARLIS/NA-TC Travel Award.
Watch for Margit in Washington, D.C.!
