Join ARLIS/NA Accessibility Edit-a-thon!

Hi ArLiSNAP!

There’s an upcoming opportunity to learn and practice some web accessibility next week, ARLIS/NA will be hosting an  Accessibility Edit-a-thon on May 10th! This event will be focused on editing automatically-generated caption files associated with video content on ARLIS/NA’s Kaltura Channel. Included in these recordings are several ArLiSNAP virtual events that have taken place in the past that we are still trying to get accessible transcriptions for, but you can choose from a range of ARLIS/NA content to help transcribe.

ARLIS/NA members Meredith Hale, Maggie Murphy, and Claire Payne will be leading the event and answering any questions you might have as you go through the process of editing caption files. The edit-a-thon will take place virtually from 4-8pm EST on Tuesday, May 10th. You’re welcome to join at any time and for whatever duration works with your schedule. You can register for the Zoom link here – https://tennessee.zoom.us/meeting/register/tJYkf-6oqz0iHdJndasPkSosm6ltS0GPt_Te

This is a great opportunity to help out! Feel free to reach out to Meredith Hale (mhale16@utk.edu) if you have any questions. We hope to see you next Tuesday!

Lewis, founder of the NYC Trans Oral History Project, and artists Nash Glynn and Keijaun Thomas.

We invite people of all gender identities and expressions to bring a laptop and join us in the Sky Room for an afternoon of public programs and a work session devoted to updating Wikipedia pages.
