|Sample Job Responsibilities||In this role, you will develop and implement all activities and planning related to preservation and will determine appropriate archival procedures, storage, and policies for the library based on best practices. You will establish and maintain departmental statistics, standards, policies, procedures, and online research guides; assist staff in the combined reference and circulation desk; support online research services and student-focused outreach activities; and assist students and faculty alike in the identification and use of appropriate special collections materials. Among other duties, you will also lead and initiate digital image production and metadata creation and offer research assistance for the image databases.|
As a special collections librarian, you will lead a robust program of artists’ book instruction and outreach, coordinate exhibition and preservation planning, and support audiovisual collection activities. You will plan, manage, and promote the annual Artists’ Book Symposium and Student Artists’ Book Competition. You will also provide access to the prominent artists’ book collection, including group and individual instructional sessions and tours for prospective students and external groups.
