Required ExperienceA Master’s degree from an ALA-accredited library and Information Studies program, or equivalent
Advanced degree, or significant progress toward an advanced degree, in Education, or equivalent
Interest in art and design, or undergraduate degree in these areas considered an asset
Minimum of three (3) years of experience in instructional design or an equivalent combination of education and work experience, preferably with relevant job experience in an academic library
Experience applying information literacy standards in curriculum design and implementation
Experience with an array of web applications and professional web design skills (e.g., Articulate Storyline, Captivate, FinalCut Pro, HTML, CSS, Javascript, Adobe creative suite, etc.)
Video and audio post-production experience, podcast software and service delivery, an asset
Knowledge of or experience applying art history research methods, or a willingness to learn
Experience with technologies and tools that deliver e-learning content such as learning management systems, content authoring tools, etc.
Instructional development experience with a focus on professional librarian and staff training

  1. Heads up – while this is a nice opportunity, 4 senior librarians were fired under the guise of “restructuring” to create this gig and a few others. Not trying to dissuade anyone from applying but just want you to know that the administration is not respecting the library staff the way it should. Also librarians at OCAD are not considered faculty.
