I’m delighted to serve as the new ArLiSNAP Student Liaison. I’m a first-year MLIS student at UCLA, where I focus on art librarianship, rare books, and visual culture. I’m also serving as the Project Manager for California Rare Book School (CalRBS).
Prior to my time at UCLA, I received an MFA in Poetry from Hunter College. My translation of Macanese poet Yao Feng’s One Love Only Until Death was published by Vagabond Press in 2017, and my poems, plays, and stories have appeared in Grub Street, Santa Ana River Review, Wild Word, and elsewhere. I also have an active art practice. I’ve performed with Jennifer Vanilla at MoMA Ps1 and Le Poisson Rouge in NYC, and my collaborative exhibition Turbulent Femme with artist Alex McClay was staged by the University of Georgia Galleries in 2019. Most of my current creative energies are channeled into the creation and appreciation of artists’ books.
I’ve taught writing and artmaking at public universities throughout the U.S., and I’m passionate about outreach, inclusive instruction, and the facilitation of creative expression. Pedagogies of care and ethical librarianship are my deepest passions. If you’d like to chat about these areas, artists’ books, or otherwise, please don’t hesitate to get in touch!
