The American Academy of Art, a non-profit, regionally accredited art college located in downtown Chicago, seeks applicants for a librarian position.
The librarian will plan, organize and direct various library services in support of the educational goals of the institution. This includes, but is not limited to, managing the Academy’s Writing Resource Center, implementing innovative library programming, and facilitating informational classroom visits.
The ideal candidate will possess experience in all aspects of library affairs, exceptional verbal and written skills, and a strong engagement with library trends in technology and pedagogy based on the ACRL Framework for Information Literacy.
An MLS and experience in the Canvas learning management platform is required.
Established in 1923, the American Academy of Art offers Bachelor of Fine Arts degrees in the commercial and fine art fields. Its mission is to teach students the traditional and contemporary skills that will enable them to pursue careers as professional artists.
