Job Opportunity: Academic Librarian, Five Towns College

Five Towns College is a regionally accredited, private institution of higher learning. The College offers programs at the undergraduate and graduate level.

The Library Resource Center is currently seeking an academic librarian. The work schedule consists of 37.5 hours/week; may include evening and occasional weekend shifts. Candidate must be flexible in regards to scheduling, as hours may shift without notice to meet the needs of the College.

Requirements: MLS degree from an ALA-accredited institution, strong technological competency (especially with eBooks, digital resources, and tablets), customer service-oriented attitude, ability to work both independently and as part of a team, eagerness to work with a diverse student population.

Candidates with an educational background in Business, Music Performance, or Audio Recording Technology will be given preference.
Principal Job Responsibilities:Assisting students and faculty with research in traditional media, as well as the digital environmentDigital collection developmentCollaborating with faculty and presenting in-class information literacy lessons, as well as informal instructionTechnical services (familiarity with both AACR2 and RDA preferred)Conducting interlibrary loan servicesCommunity outreachServe on College committees and share in College governanceAll other functions generally associated with librarianship
