Job Posting: Archivist/Digital Asset Manager, VS+Company, NYC

RESPONSIBILITIES

– Archiving all files and physical prints produced for photography, creative services, retouching, and restoration projects

– Organizing project files on the server and following the appropriate protocols for how jobs are archived

– Working with asset creators across different departments to ensure archival workflow is followed and organizational mistakes are

corrected before a job is archived

– Confirming all data is properly and redundantly copied to the archive and archive backups

– Keeping track of content archived across local and offsite storage systems

– Monitoring the health and integrity of archived files across two unique storage systems

– Preforming biweekly and quarterly backups

– Ensuring there is always an appropriate amount of working space on the server

– Conducting all archive related projects and image research

– Updating internal database catalogs, websites, and portfolios with images and image metadata

– Managing migration of the archive catalog to a new DAM solution

– Improving the interdepartmental archiving protocols

 

REQUIREMENTS

– At least 2+ year of previous experience working with digital archives

– Working knowledge of Adobe Photoshop

– Extensive of knowledge of Adobe LightRoom

– Familiarity with content and digital asset management systems

– Comfort with digital image processing (formats, color spaces, file conversion, dissemination)

– Excellent communication skills with the ability to multitask while successfully working within a team environment

– Ability to evaluate large amounts of data and organize it into a clear comprehensive format

– Uncompromising attention to detail

– Effective researcher and problem solver

– Thoughtful and analytical thinker

– Deep understanding of Macintosh computers

– Natural inclination to organization and cleanliness

– Bachelor’s degree (with demonstrated interest in Fine Art or Photography)

– Valid visa / working papers
