Job Posting: University Library Exhibits Coordinator, University of Virginia

The University of Virginia Library establishes deep connections with faculty and students in ways that foster excellence in current and emerging research, scholarship, teaching and learning. As a member of the Intellectual Crossroads team in Academic Engagement, the Exhibits Coordinator will plan, organize, and participate in the operation of UVa Library exhibits and develop and coordinate design elements and publicity for exhibitions. Exhibit planning should further strengthen relationships among the library, faculty and students, and other centers on campus, positioning the library as a key partner in academic engagement.

Qualifications: College degree or commensurate experience in a relevant field (ex. Art, preservation, conservation or museum studies). Advanced degree in a relevant field preferred. Experience with project management in a collaborative environment. Demonstrated understanding of the museum and /or special collections exhibits environment. Familiarity with current graphic design tools. Excellent interpersonal skills. Strong written and oral communication skills. Familiarity with the operation of a research university, and ability to work effectively and collegially in a team-based environment with colleagues, clients, and administrators at all levels. Preferred: Experience coordinating events or exhibits.

Salary and Benefits: Competitive depending on qualifications. This position has University Staff status with excellent benefits, including 22 days of vacation and TIAA/CREF and other retirement plans.
