General purpose:
Support functions in the office of Registrar with primary emphasis on Rights & Reproduction and Collection photography Coordinator
Education/Experience Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in art history, museum studies with digital photography experience preferred. Experience working in an art museum is preferred. Strong computer skills, experience with database systems preferred but not required. Knowledge of copyright law helpful but will train. Attention to detail and excellent communication skills desired.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Rights and Reproductions Coordinator
- Responds to external requests to use collection images in publications, commercial and digital projects
- Prepare correspondence and contracts
- Determine fees and collect payments
- Obtain copyright permissions for collections-related products for the museum store and webpage
- Review all collections-related products for color quality and correct credit lines
- Work with Communications, Education, and Design to provide proper credit lines for promotional collections image use
- Maintain Non-Exclusive License Agreements for all applicable acquisitions
Collection Photography Coordinator
- Duties include managing contract photographer, scheduling photo shoots, serving as a photographer’s assistant, process digital photography and oversee photography budgets
- Maintain permanent collection photography archives
- Process digital photography as required
- Create and upload image files for the permanent collection
- Prepare Non-Exclusive License Agreements for all applicable collection objects
Registrar’s Assistant
- Special projects as necessary
- Filing as necessary
