The Faculty of Architecture and History of Art Library is looking for an enthusiastic and motivated library assistant to join our small and experienced dedicated and friendly Library team.  You will provide support for the two part-time Faculty Librarians in delivering information services tailored to the specific needs of Faculty Library users, undergraduates and postgraduates alike. You will have excellent interpersonal and communication skills and a demonstrable commitment to providing an excellent customer service.

You will play a key role in supporting the Faculty Librarians in delivering reader services. You will need to demonstrate an ability to think creatively, to problem-solve, and adapt quickly to changes in a busy work environment. You should be proactive and be able to engage positively and confidently with team members and library users.

You will assist with communication to users on a daily basis using email and web interfaces, and develop effective ways of promoting key library services. You will work to promote the library and its provision of newly purchased books and communicate new and existing online resources using various technologies and social media applications, as well as making a contribution to new initiatives, projects and in-house displays.

Accuracy and attention to detail are essential, as is the ability to work cooperatively in a team.

Some knowledge and interest of art and/or architecture as an academic discipline would be desirable.
