Xpace is seeking a Director who will work with Xpace staff, Volunteers, Interns and the OCAD Student Union, to manage, plan and execute gallery operations, internal and external collaborations and strategic development. The Director will work to develop and execute projects that offer students and emerging artists and designers the opportunity to develop and challenge their careers in art and design. Xpace’s goal is to facilitate and nurture experimental and developing practices in art and design. As Director you will work with the Xpace team to develop and maintain an environment that supports this mission. Additionally the Director will be responsible for overseeing the organization of annual fundraisers, operation/programming budgets, monthly/annual reports and our annual publication VOLUME.

Under the direction of the Maintenance, Binding and Processing Supervisor, the incumbent is responsible for assessing the condition of library materials and processing them for in-house mending, for commercial binding, or for review by Reference Services; processing all formats of library material for binding and entering data into ABLE (Binder’s database) and working in close co-operation with the Maps, Data & Government Information Centre (MADGIC) to assess and process government documents, atlases and maps for binding; end processing of Library materials; processing revisions to catalogue records as directed by supervisor; providing office support; preparing and updating documentation related to duties; performs other duties as assigned.
