Cornish College of the Arts, Seattle, WA
Deadline: 18 March
Cornish College of the Arts, located in Seattle, WA, is a four-year visual and performing arts college offering Bachelor of Fine Arts degrees in art, dance, design, theater, performance production and a Bachelor of Music degree. The Library serves about 800 students, 150 faculty and 125 staff.
The Library is looking for a versatile, energetic Librarian to fill a position that is responsible for a variety of duties which span reference services, instructional services, and technical services. Because the Cornish Library is small, all staff members perform a variety of functions, including occasional circulation backup when needed. For a person with broad professional interests and skills, this could be an ideal fit.
Cornish Librarians need to be able to work effectively with students who are pursuing an arts-based education and are expected to eventually become familiar with the basic history and literature of all the arts taught at Cornish, both performing and visual. In addition to providing upper level instructional services for all the departments by request, the Library also works closely with the Humanities and Sciences department to provide required information literacy instruction in the freshman year.
Founded in 1914, Cornish College of the Arts is an established and vibrant arts institution in Seattle that continues to grow and evolve. The Cornish Library offers a distinctive opportunity to work with a dedicated and creative group of students, faculty and staff.
