  1. I’d like to announce my candidacy for the 2011-2013 ArLiSNAP coordinator.

I have a B.A. in English/Creative Writing and History, and M.S. in Library Science/Archives Management. I was the blogger and technology chair for Simmons College’s Panopticon for the 2009-2010 school year, which was a fancy name for saying I took minutes at our monthly meetings, and wrote semi-weekly blog entires on upcoming Panopticon events, and art-related happenings in the Boston-area. I worked closely with ArLiSNAP and the Boston-chapter of ArLiS. I’m a good hand at cataloging and time organization, love working with photographs, and write poetry in my spare time.

I hope to continue to bridge the gap between ArLiSNAP, college student groups, and local ArLiS chapters, as well as opportunities within ArLiSNAP.

  2. I would like to announce my candidacy for the 2011-2013 ArLiSNAP Coordinator.

I am a MLIS candidate at the University of Pittsburgh, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. I have a BA in English Literature and Art History from the University of Houston, in Houston, Texas. Currently, I am the secretary for the University of Pittsburgh’s Student Chapter of the ALA. I have also held many different leadership roles throughout my higher education career.

I currently work at the Andy Warhol Museum as a intern project cataloger working on the Archive’s Time Capsule Project. My days are spent opening old boxes full of Andy Warhol’s personal belongings. Sometimes I find original art, photographs, letters, stray wig hairs, and even food!

As ArLiSNAP Coordinator I would like to strengthen the connections between ArLiSNAP and ArLiS/NA and local ArLiS organizations as well as continue with ArLiS’s goal to bridge together the ArLiS and VRA organizations. I would like to see more activity on the ArLiSNAP blog or the creation of a ArLiSNAP listserv.

In addition to libraries and art, I love cats and reading.

  3. I would like to announce my candidacy for the 2011-2013 ArLiSNAP Coordinator.

I have my MA in art history and my MLS from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and my BA in art history from Williams College. I am currently an independent consultant in New York City. I created and am co-president of a recreational hypnosis club in New York and I am a volunteer for New York Country Dancers.

In addition, I aided ArLiSNAP with the Web 2.0 kiosk and I am speaking at the ARLIS/VRA2011 conference at the Emerging Technologies panel about social media and presentations.

As ArLiSNAP Coordinator I intend to strengthen ties between ArLiSNAP and ArLiS at large, especially through doing a reverse mentorship, in which ArLiSNAP members advise other ArLiS members about the use of social media and keep them informed about new technologies relevant to their institutions.

I also intend to make full use of this website and our presence on facebook, as well as making use of other online tools to help keep ArLiSNAP members connected beyond the annual conference meeting. That includes facilitating webinars for inter-university organizational brainstorming and for trading job-hunting tips.

As ArLiSNAP coordinator I would also push for greater involvement and coordination with other organizations like ACRL, including a strong contingent of ArLiSNAPers involved in ACRL conferences.

I like logistics, contra dance and New York City history.
