Library Project Assistant (six-month grant-funded position) | Library
Creates MARC bibliographic records for finding aids created by the Museum Archives in Encoded Archival Description (EAD) format. Reports to Associate Librarian. This position is part-time and hours are flexible.
Requirements: MLIS degree with interest/experience in cataloging. Working experience using Anglo-American Cataloging Rules (AACR2); Library of Congress Rule Interpretations (LCRI); Library of Congress Subject Headings (LCSH); and Library of Congress Classification Fine Art Schedule (N) is essential. Familiarity with Describing Archives: a Content Standard (DACS) is preferred. Proficiency working with Library of Congress’ Catalogers Desktop is required. Strong organizational and communication skills. Detail orientated. Knowledge of modern and contemporary art.
