|Title:||Visual Resources Librarian|
|Position Summary:||A key library managerial position reporting to the Director of Library Services and supervising 2.6 FTE staff. Responsible for the effective and efficient operation of the visual resources department, including the image, film, video and picture collections. Provide reference, collection development and instructional services. Provide leadership in the development and use of digital images; oversee materials collection.|
|Qualifications:||ALA-accredited MLS or an equivalent combination of education and experience; BA or higher degree in art history strongly preferred. Minimum five years professional visual resources or relevant academic library experience required. Knowledge of issues and standards for visual resources cataloging. Strong technology background especially in emerging teaching and library technologies. Familiarity with current issues in digital imaging, rights management and pedagogy. Ability and interest in overseeing development of materials collection. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills are necessary. Reading knowledge of French, German, or Italian is helpful. Record of professional involvement expected.|
