|Coordinator Slide Library (Digital Productions Assistant), Northwestern University Evanston Campus
Job Summary: The Digital Productions Assistant provides support for digitization requests covering a variety of digital content. This position assists in the ingestion of digital content on both the technical and descriptive level. This position is the initial contact for all orders from Digital Collections patrons, routing intake for all production services. (The primary work location for this position will be the Main Library, but will spend some hours each week working in the Kresge building on the Evanston campus, and will be posted to other locations as needed to conduct collections inventories.) Specific Responsibilities: Processes digitization requests for all orders at first point of submission, and assists with intake of existing digital content; Prepares orders by searching relevant resources such as ARTstor and the local OPAC to avoid duplication of production work; Helps expedite orders and requests, and communicates with staff on technical and descriptive issues pertaining to digital content; Assists with inventorying items for digitization projects; Assists with the inventory, maintenance, and tracking of equipment, and orders supplies; Provides basic technical support for staff and end users; Performing related duties as required or assigned. Minimum Qualifications: A bachelor’s degree or the equivalent combination of education, training and experience from which comparable skills can be acquired; Advanced working knowledge of digital video, audio, or image applications; Experience in a service-oriented environment. Preferred Qualifications: Previous museum, visual resources, or academic or research library experience; College level course work in Digital Media, Art, Photography, Film, or a related field; Previous digitization experience.
