Apply Now for ARLIS/NA Career Mentoring Program – Conference Workshop

As you make your travel arrangements for the upcoming annual conference in Boston, please consider making room in your schedule for the Career Mentoring program workshop.

Friday, April 23 from 8 a.m. to Noon

This four-hour workshop will be modeled on the successful 2005 ARLIS/NA Mentoring Program workshop led by Margaret Law. The workshop will feature an introduction to mentoring, viewing of the 2005 presentation on DVD, discussion, role-playing, and breakout sessions with mentor/mentee pairs. Characteristics of mentors, mentees, and the mentoring relationship; methods of communication; and benefits and potential pitfalls of mentoring will be discussed.

In order to facilitate optimal matching of mentor/mentee pairs, a short application form must be submitted prior to the annual conference.

Application Form is Now Open:

We will especially need mentors of all backgrounds – whether you’ve been in the profession for a handful of years or are a veteran (and have the battle scars to prove it!).   Please email Sarah Carter (scarter2 [at] ringling [dot] edu) with further questions.

  1. We especially need MENTORS right now – even if you’ve been in the profession for a handful of years, we KNOW that you have something to offer those who are in grad school or interviewing for their first job. Your perspective on these experiences is very valuable, so please sign up as a MENTOR!
