Description:

Design Institute of San Diego (DISD) a private college that offers a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Interior Design degree, seeks a full-time librarian to provide reference, research and information literacy instruction to students and faculty.  Strong information technology skills and the ability to make recommendations, implement new technology, and train in this area are required.  Responsibilities will include assisting the current librarian with providing leadership and management in the continuing development of the specialized holdings of the College library with an emphasis in Architecture, Design, Fine Arts and Liberal Arts related information resources and services.   The library at DISD is a working library and a successful candidate would provide extensive one-on-one interaction with students and faculty.  Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required.  An interest in art and design and the desire to review and learn about course content to assist with researching resources and making recommendations is a plus.  Previous experience in an arts or humanities library is preferred but not required.  The Candidate must have a Master’s Degree in Library Information Science from an ALA accredited school.
