Want to be a Co-moderator of ArLiSNAP? This is your chance!

ArLiSNAP is seeking candidates for the position of Co-Moderator.

The new co-moderator will serve a term of 2 years, to be staggered with another co-moderator (currently Tracy Bergstrom), beginning at the end of May. 1. Dear ArLiSNAPers,

Please consider my candidacy for our Co-Moderator position. I wish to be considered for numerous reasons, but, most importantly, I wish to be an integral part of the progressive voice we’ve become.

In 2006, I partnered with an incredible team to find a platform which would create a community and empower LIS students and new professionals. From naming to promotion to helping structuring our site, I’ve been and active part of ArLiSNAP.

As a new professional and recently minted librarian, I understand our needs. I’ve worked in public, academic, and corporate libraries, and I’ve crafted my own LIS educational experience to focus on art librarianship as well as library management.

As an active member of ARLIS/NA’s Membership Committee, I have functioned as a representative for ArLiSNAP. I designed an ArLiSNAP flyer that is part of ARLIS/NA’s new member welcoming kit, and I made sure that a student perspective was considered during our recent membership dues increase. As Co-Moderator, I would continue to work with Membership as well as other committees to explore future collaborative possibilities.

ArLiSNAP is positioned to an important voice within ARLIS/NA and beyond. We have the unique opportunity to be the future leaders within our organization and profession. We’ve made great strides as a group already. With due diligence, we can innovate the way we learn, communicate, and participate in a global context.

Please vote for me. Your vote will enable me to promote our interests and facilitate our continued success.

If you have any questions, or wish me to clarify my statements, please feel free to post your comments and/or questions below, or email me directly at bryan [at] theloars.com

  2. Please join me in offering a hearty hip hip hooray! to our new co-moderator, Bryan Loar. As this year’s only candidate, we can skip the formalities of an election and declare Bryan as the co-moderator who will serve from 2009-2011.

Please join me in giving a hearty thanks to Bryan for his continued involvement with the blog and ever-present enthusiasm for the organization and mission of ArLiSNAP.

    Tracy

  3. Thanks Tracy!

I’m really excited to work with all of you. We’ve got a lot of great momentum, and, if you’re still thinking about volunteering, please join us by posting a comment here.

For those of you that have already indicated interest in volunteering, THANK YOU! Tracy & I will facilitate your efforts so that both you & ArLiSNAP receive the maximum benefit from your work. In the next few weeks, I foresee us taking our ideas and turning those into actions.

If you have any concerns that you’d like me to address, please either post them here on ArLiSNAP or email me at bryan [at] theloars [dot] com.

    Cheers,
    B.Loar
