Towson University seeks an early-career librarian for a two-year residency program to begin Fall 2009. The program is designed to provide a broad range of experiences in academic librarianship, a supportive environment for professional exploration, and an opportunity for concentrated experience in an area of specialization.

Required: MLS from an ALA-accredited institution, preferably granted between January 2008 and August 2009. Strong interest in developing a career in academic librarianship; demonstrated commitment to public service and user satisfaction; excellent communication, presentation and interpersonal skills; commitment to professional growth; and ability to work independently as well as collaboratively with colleagues and patrons from diverse backgrounds. Compensation: The Residency Librarian will be appointed for a two-year term with non-tenure track visiting faculty status. Salary is commensurate with that of an entry-level professional librarian. Full benefits package is provided with health insurance and retirement options. This position is contingent on the availability of funds at the time of hire.
