Duties:
=The Digital Services Librarian participates in the planning, implementation and maintenance of the library’s core digital services including the Archival Management System, Digital Repository, Integrated Library System and the OpenURL Resolver.
=Position ensures the interoperability of distributed library systems containing digital projects, specialized collections, finding aids, licensed resources and educational and instructional resources.
=Communicates information on digital library library activities to Library staff and the university community.

Requirements:
=MLS from an ALA-accredited program
=Demonstrated understanding of the application of technology as it relates to scholarship and teaching
=Demonstrated ability to analyze user requirements to deliver technology solutions
=Experience with digital image file formats and software;
=Familiarity with trends and issues related to preservation of digital content
=Minimum of three years experience working with an Integrated Library System, Archival Management System and/or OpenURL link resolver
=Knowledge of copyright and licensing issues affecting digitization efforts
=Knowledge of audio and visual applications in the virtual environment.
=Minimum of two years experience developing applications in MySQL, Java, Javascript, and/or PHP;
=Minimum one year experience with XHTML, HTML, CSS, XML and/or XSL;
=Demonstrated understanding of metadata standards such as Dublin Core, EAD, or METS;
=Demonstrated knowledge of digital library standards, technologies and techniques such as OAI/PMH and Z39.50;
=Excellent organizational and analytical skills;
=Excellent oral and written communication skills;
=Strong analytical, inter-personal and communication skills;
=Ability to work effectively with a team;
=Demonstrated commitment to risk-taking;
=Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team;
=Ability to be flexible, open-minded and comfortable with changing responsibilities as duties as new and additional needs become known;
=Record of participation and/or contribution in library professional organizations.
