Metadata Librarian
The New Mexico State University Library ( invites applications for Metadata and Authority Control Librarian. Required: MLS from an ALA-accredited program or equivalent; demonstrated knowledge of issues and trends in digital library development and metadata standards; working knowledge of non-MARC metadata schemes, such as, Dublin Core, METS, and VRA Core, etc.; awareness of current and emerging issues in institutional and open repository schemes. Ability to take an active role in leading and managing metadata initiatives associated with institutional repositories and digital archives. Experience with or knowledge of traditional cataloging standards and practices using MARC, AACR2, LCSH and LC classification as these apply to authority control. Proficiency in Microsoft Access and demonstrated ability to create complex queries. familiarity with MarcEdit software. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Demonstrated excellence in planning, leadership, communication, and project management skills. Ability to meet tenure track requirements in the areas of librarianship, scholarship and creative activity, service, extension and outreach. Please refer to for a full job description. Salary: COE.
