Full Time Position
= Performs complex archival and indexing work.
= Will develop new digital library with digital photographs.
= Work involves
– caring for and preserving permanently negatives/photographs;
– analyzing, arranging records and archives;
– preparing inventories, indexes, guides, and other finding aids to facilitate access to records;
– and assisting users by making records, documents and information available or by locating other reference materials.
= Works under general supervision with moderate latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment.
EXAMPLES OF WORK PERFORMED:
= Arranges and describes state government records and photographic images.
= Prepares and maintains computer cross index of members’ digital images.
= Prepares and maintains digital images photograph files according to index file system.
= Digital images checked in and out.
= Provides professional reference and research services to archive users in person, by telephone or mail.
= Assists in locating records appropriate to research and photographic printing needs.
= May assist with special projects such as members’ composite and other publications.
= Performs related work as assigned.
EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION:
= Experience in archival work.
= Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with a graduate degree in history, government, library science or a related field is generally preferred.
= Experience and education may be substituted for one another.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
= Knowledge of professional archival methods, practices and procedures.
= Familiarity with investigative research procedures; and the application to the management of an archival depository.
= Ability to collect, organize, research, interpret and submit descriptions of digital photographic index.
= Computer skills and knowledge of database is very important.
MONTHLY SALARY: $2828.83 PER MONTH
