SALARY: $2,303.60 minimum to $3,090.53 midpoint (Monthly) GRADE: 10

POSITION
SUMMARY:
BVRL is seeking an experienced and dynamic individual who can contribute to the development of image collections supporting the curriculum in the College of Fine Arts and School of Architecture and Planning as part of a collaborative team. The selected applicant will become our digital assets specialist. Primary responsibilities may include providing general on- and off-site reference services and library instruction in support of teaching and learning. This individual will conduct day-to-day administration and user support of image management and delivery systems and serve as staff expert on architecture or another curriculum driven subject area for cataloging needs. The ideal applicant will have visual resources experience, know standards and trends, and have experience with complex relational databases. The Library Information Specialist 3 must have experience with managing digital image collections including digital image acquisition, cataloging, end user support and instruction. In addition, this person must be able to assist with day-to-day operations, including circulation, reference, and student employee supervision.

MINIMUM
QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor’s degree; at least 3 years of experience that is directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.

OR

Master’s degree in Library/Information Sciences; at least 1 year of experience that is directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.

PREFERRED
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Master’s degree in subject relevant for specialized cataloging, such as architecture, art or architectural history
  • Reading knowledge of one European language in addition to English
  • 3 or more years visual resources
  • Knowledge of and experience using visual resources cataloging resources such as Getty Vocabularies, VRA Core, and CCO guidelines
  • Skill in use and maintenance of complex relational databases and or digital asset management systems in a visual resources environment
  • Skill in using visual resources technology including peripherals and networked applications
  • Experience providing reference services and user instruction in an academic setting
