Responsible for daily circulation and related functions of the Fine Arts Library. Assists with processing all course and permanent reserve collections and works with faculty regarding accuracy and completeness of course reserves. Supervises stacks maintenance. Shelves special collections materials. Schedules, hires, and trains student employees in coordination with Branch Library Coordinator. Serves as the evening and weekend supervisor of the library, monitoring the work of 15-20 student employees.
Qualifications: High school diploma or GED and at least six months library experience required. Previous public/customer service experience necessary. Excellent interpersonal skills, including a demonstrated ability to interact tactfully and courteously with faculty, staff, students, and other library patrons. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Ability to work independently, to work as part of a team, and to organize uneven and demanding workflows. Dependability. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Demonstrated supervisory experience. Computer/keyboarding skills and experience with word processing. Ability to work evening and weekend hours. Ability to climb stairs and lift/carry large books. Background in fine arts strongly preferred. Foreign languages (French, German and/or Italian) a plus. Facility with office and viewing equipment, e.g., scanners, copy and fax machines, printers, slide and microfiche projectors preferred
Schedule: Sunday, 1:30 – 9:30 pm; Monday – Thursday, 3:00 – 7:00 pm. Please note that shifts may vary and are subject to change depending on the needs of the unit and variations in the hours of operation. Daytime, evening, and weekend shifts are required.
