  1. Many times listservs are also indexed by search engines. So, be careful what you post there. I’ve seen flames as well as very, very embarrassing posts on LIS listservs–not a good idea.

  2. Indeed! It is interesting how blogs, listservs, websites, etc are such great and useful tools and such a common aspect of life. Nonetheless, many forget it is open, free, and accessible. If one places themselves on a blog, facebook, myspace, etc “you” are out there for the world to see. However, it is somewhat devious of an employer to hold a “social network blooper” or a blog (whether it facebook or myspace) that you have forgetten about against you.
