Duties And Responsibilities
Scans 35mm color slides in the Fine Arts Library’s Digital Imaging Lab part of an 18-month Library digitization project; Organizes and prepares slides for scanning using color management and scanning software. Under the supervision of the Project Manager, scans approximately 500-700 slides per week using Heidelberg Topaz IX scanner. Works with Project Job Tracking Coordinator to direct work flow and priorities. Resolves image quality problems. This is an 18-month Term position expected to end on August 31, 2008
Required Education, Experience and Skills
Basic Qualifications: HS Diploma or equivalent required; Experience operating scanning and image processing equipment required; Experience with a variety of operating systems and software programs required. Experience with imaging procedures including scanning and the use of software such as Adobe PhotoShop, SilverFast Ai required. Additional Requirements: BA preferred. Experience in an art history or visual arts field preferred; Some knowledge of XML or Microsoft Access is desirable; Attention to detail, ability to prioritize work, resolve image problems, work accurately and independently in order to meet Project goals.
