Under direction of the Head Librarian, manage most facets of library acquisitions, including ordering, receiving, and payments. Manage MFA publication exchange program. Provide reference service for library users. Provide general office and administrative support for the Head Librarian. The Library Assistant will: correspond with publishers and book dealers. Search cataloging records from RLIN, LC and FLO databases. Tracking all uncataloged monographic materials. Manage established MFA library exchange program. Coordinate mailing of museum publications. Train and supervise work study students. Process and review financial statements. Process a variety of correspondence for the Librarian. Represent the libraries on consortium committees. Provide reference service using knowledge of art historical research techniques, including use of specialized foreign language sources and searching on-line databases. Assist staff and other patrons in using the on-line public access catalog (FLO) and other reference sources and equipment. Maintain inventory of supplies for library. Purchase supplies; generate purchase orders, and work orders. Track office supply spending. Maintain supply storage areas. Receive, sort and distribute mail. Requires a Bachelor’s degree, broad knowledge of library procedures, WP and PC skills and at least one year of experience.

Schedule: Mon-Fri, 9am-5pm
